Environment

Waste and fluid disposal

At Port City Heavy Diesel Maintenance, environmental responsibility isn't just about meeting industry standards. It's personal.

We're a family-owned and operated business, built by people who enjoy the very environment we work to protect. We love spending our weekends fishing, exploring our national parks and enjoying everything this great country has to offer.

Our philosophy is simple: we enjoy these places today, so it's our responsibility to protect them for our children to enjoy tomorrow.

That's why we take waste management seriously. Through local waste oil disposal and recycling facilities in Gladstone and Rockhampton, we ensure used oils are handled and separated responsibly, minimising contamination and preserving their potential to be recycled and re-refined.

We understand that every litre of oil disposed of incorrectly has the potential to impact the waterways, land and ecosystems we value.

For us, doing the job properly doesn't stop when the machine is back up and running. It means taking responsibility for what we leave behind.

  1. Collected at the machine

Waste oil, coolant and filters are collected at the machine.

  2. Contained and labelled

Kept in suitable, labelled containment until it leaves site.

  3. Removed from site

Transported from site to a licensed facility.

  4. Licensed disposal

Handled through a licensed waste facility.

Because the same waterways we work alongside today are the ones we want to take our children fishing in tomorrow.
